About IonPlants

Welcome to my blog, which I have been compelled to start. I’ll be covering aspects of local food, food politics, small farms, homesteading, building soil, voluntary simplicity, traditional foods and medicines, getting started in growing your own food and similar subjects. So many subjects, I don’t know where to start!

I use a variety of conservation methods that go “beyond organic”. These are just a couple of them.

  • I use no synthetic chemicals, pesticides or herbicides.
  • My 1/2 acre has been chemical free for over 3 years.
  • I use soil-building techniques and purchase all my original seed stock from non-GMO producers like Baker Creek Seeds.

Thank you for your efforts in bringing about awareness to the issue of safe and sustainable lifestyles in an era where large corporations are finally hitting the wall and must come up with alternatives in manufacturing if they want to stay in the market.

More and more people everyday are turning their attention to smaller groups such as co-ops and villages in third world countries to purchase products that not only are affordable but also all natural, and manufactured using sustainable materials and methods that leave little or no environmental footprints.

With much attention being paid to Fair Trade Principles, it would seem that everyone is benefiting.

Let’s keep it going and support not only a better and healthier environment, but also a stronger economy by supporting each other from the on a grass roots level rather than catering to a sector of society that has long over staid its welcome, Corporate America

Yes, it’s time for our government to start working for the people and the land rather than the profits and some false ideals.
    Thanks for visiting!
